It’s not a coincidence that Samsung’s Spatial Display is the topic of the moment: At ISE, the world’s leading annual audiovisual trade show, it picked up a handful of awards. It’s also had a spot on our own stand at EuroShop (you might have caught it there), and now has a permanent place in our Experience Center.
A normal display, until there’s content on it
As a retailer, you want to be able to innovate: interactive touchscreens, loyalty program integrations, live inventory data, and personalized content per location. The ambition is there, the technology is there. But most legacy platforms can’t scale that innovation. What works in one store won’t roll out across hundreds or thousands of locations.
On top of that, there are practical frustrations. A CMS that requires IT support for every update wastes valuable time. The lack of on/off tooling causes unnecessary wear and higher energy consumption, something that weighs heavily on your ESG reporting. And if your digital signage supplier only pushes their own CMS, you’re locked into an ecosystem that doesn’t move with your brand.
How does the depth actually work?
Built into the display is a lenticular layer that Samsung calls the 3D-Plate: optical elements send a slightly different image to each eye, the same principle behind a lenticular card that changes image depending on your viewing angle. That layer sits in the background and creates up to a metre of depth, while the product itself stays sharp and flat: a showcase effect, sharp up front, depth behind it.
Earlier generations of glasses-free 3D displays struggled with high costs, large footprints, and custom content requirements. Here, the technology is simply built into the display itself, no separate structure required.

More than a nice effect
At only a couple of centimetres thick, the 3D spatial display already saves you space on a wall, stand or shopping floor. On top of that:
- No glasses or extra equipment needed: the effect is there the moment you stand in front of it
- A product you can look at from every side. Giving shoppers the possibility to experience your product without even touching it.
- Gives your brand a modern, eye-catching first impression, exactly when it counts
- Turns a static ad into a 3D experience, just as elevant if you sell ad space to other brands yourself
- Mounts just as easily as a standard display, with content that can be managed remotely
Content for the Samsung Spatial Display? Easier than you’d think
Content for Samsung’s Spatial Display doesn’t need to be complicated. A standard video file is already enough. No special format required. Well-lit, layered 2D content often looks nearly as convincing as native 3D. Rotating products tend to show off the effect best. And the background doesn’t have to be white either, other colours work just as well.
With just a few product photos, our Creative Agency can create Samsung Spatial Display content in no time. By using AI to accelerate production when video footage isn’t available, our designers can craft high-quality, brand-specific visuals for virtually any product.
The best proof? See it for yourself
Stand in front of it yourself, that’s really the only way to judge this properly. It’s running right now in our Experience Center, and it’s just one of many things worth seeing there. Book an exclusive tour and see it in person, alongside everything else on show.
